Blessed Acres

    German Shepherds have always been, to me, the "heroes" of the canine world.  While attending college, I came across a search and rescue book entitled, "So That Others May Live: Caroline Hebard & Her Search and Rescue Dogs",  and could not put the book down. The work that these shepherds did was amazing. 

I graduated NSU with a degree in Veterinary Technology, and finally, in 2004,  I was able to purchase my first German Shepherd.  After alot of researching, I purchased a sable female who I named "Minka".  She obtained her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and we became involved in the sport of Schutzhund, and attained a BH in 2006. We are currently training and plan on achieving further Schutzhund titles.

Minka Vom Alk 

  Minka is a wonderful shepherd for our family. She does anything I ask her to do, whether it's Schutzhund work, farm work, or take a road trip.  She protects our home and property,  gets along with all of our farm animals, and couldn't be better  with our 7 yr. old daughter, Gracie,  and our 4 yr. old son, TJ.  

Whenever we're outside, Minka watches over the kids like they are her own. This is where she chooses to be.
